Waste of time?

Did you know that Americans spent a total of 53.5 billion minutes, which is the same as 101,000 years, on Facebook in May 2011? Even though Facebook is useful for some people, other people use it for reasons that aren't helpful to anyone. The amount of time Americans spend on Facebook could be used productively instead. Do you think the time you spend on Facebook is a waste? What would you do with your time if you didn't go on Facebook?

  1. This seems obsurd, that 101,000 years worth of time is spent of facebook. To me this seems foreign, because I rarely go on the computer, and I rarely watch television, so learing about this makes me really question how dependant the world is becoming on technology.

  2. I spend most of my time on facebook stalking people and their lives. I'm not afriad to admit it...I use facebook to see what others are doing. Don't lie you do it too, and its fun. One minute you're on your friend's page and the next you're looking at their cousin's sister's husband's 40th suprise birthday party.

  3. I think that for anyone who used Facebook productively, that time was not wasted. Spent it publishing your profesional artwork as an online portfolio? Talking to your grandmother in England? Reconencting with your high school BFF? Sounds like worthy causes to me!
